what the CRAP is that?
here’s how CRAP came to life, and it’s as unexpected as it gets.
imagine this: sjoerd was rigging a camera when he found himself dealing with a broken dc to d-tap cable. stuck on the toilet, scrolling through options for a replacement, he realized just how insanely overpriced these cables were. a quick search (yes, still on the toilet) revealed that the exact same cables were available from overseas suppliers for 15 times less. no kidding.
that was the lightbulb moment. suddenly, sjoerd was on a mission. what started as a simple search turned into an obsession. eight months later, crap was born with two killer mark 1 products and an even more exciting product on the way.
this journey is just getting started, and we know there’ll be bumps. we’ll make mistakes, learn from them, and keep pushing forward. it’s a wild ride, and we’re here for all of it.

sustainability is a core value for us. as nature enthusiasts who spend a lot of time outdoors—whether for fun or for documentary work—we get the challenge of balancing a killer product line with environmental responsibility. here’s how we’re making sure crap stays as sustainable as possible:
- we donate 1% of our annual profit to wwf, the leading dutch organization for climate and nature conservation.
- we minimize packaging by sticking to a single label, cutting out excessive cardboard and ink waste.
- we ship our products from china to the netherlands by train, reducing carbon emissions.
- we avoid individual packaging for bulk orders to keep waste to a minimum.

CRAP products are designed and sampled in the netherlands.
we start with digital designs and experiment with different materials to create initial samples. once those samples hit our standards, we team up with trusted partners in china to bring them to life. after working closely with the same factory, we’ve built strong, reliable connections that we’re proud of.
